Stage 1

The Insights overview, one screen of what's working

The Stage 1 Insights overview tracks every first message to the meeting. People contacted, positive replies, meetings per 100, opportunities and more.

Most outbound reporting counts activity. Messages sent, opens, replies. None of it tells you whether you're any closer to a signed engagement.

The Insights overview in Stage 1 follows every first message to what it became, and puts the numbers that matter on one screen.

The eight numbers at the top

Open Insights and you land on the Overview. Two rows of tiles sit at the top.

People contacted is how many people got a first message from you. Each person counts once, no matter how many follow-ups they got.

Positive replies is the share of those people who answered interested or referred you to someone, or booked a meeting.

Meetings per 100 is meetings booked for every 100 people contacted. Under it you see how many were booked and how many were held.

Became opportunities counts meetings that turned into a real opportunity, and shows it as a share of meetings held.

Invites accepted is the share of your LinkedIn connection requests that were accepted. It fills in once LinkedIn starts reporting accepts.

Opt-outs is the share of people who asked you to stop.

Days to first meeting counts from the day you signed up to your first booked meeting.

Plan cost per meeting divides what you pay for Stage 1 by the meetings it produced. It's the subscription only, and it's an estimate.

Under the tiles

Below the tiles, the same first messages are cut every useful way. Week by week, from sent to positive reply to meeting. Which signal works on which seat. How fresh the signal was when you wrote. Warm intro, already connected or cold. Drafts sent as written against drafts you rewrote. Message length. Which step in the sequence earned the reply. How fast you answered interested replies. How many people you threaded per account. How many signals had stacked up when you approved. Day of the week, industry and company size.

If you have booked meetings without an outcome, a card asks whether each one happened. One click each. The held and opportunity counts depend on your answers. More on that in meetings booked versus meetings held.

Early numbers

Under 100 first messages, a note at the top says the numbers are early. Treat any cut with fewer than 100 sends as a hint, not a finding.

Stage 1 helps there. Adjusted rates lean on the pooled numbers from every firm on Stage 1 until yours have enough sends to stand alone.

Why meetings, not replies

A reply rate looks good in a deck. It doesn't pay anyone. A services firm selling $50K to $500K engagements lives on first meetings with the right buyer, and on how many of those become real opportunities.

That's why meetings per 100 sits in the middle of the top row, and why positive replies only count the replies that move toward a meeting. A polite no is a reply. It isn't progress. The case for that is in reply rate is the wrong north star.

Days to first meeting matters for the same reason. It tells you how long it takes your market to say yes to a conversation, which is the number a founder needs when deciding how much pipeline to build ahead of a hiring plan. See time to first meeting as a metric.

Where it fits

Insights sits in the main menu with the Board, the Desk and the Brain. The Board is where outreach starts. The Desk is where replies become meetings. Insights is where you find out which of your choices did the work.

Every number starts with a first message and ends with a meeting.

Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial and no credit card. Plans and details are on the pricing page, or you can start your trial.
