Stage 1

Inside the Brain. How Stage 1 learns your business

The Brain is how Stage 1 learns what your firm sells and how it talks, from your website and documents, so its research and drafts sound like you.

A sales tool that doesn't know your firm writes like a template. The Brain is the part of Stage 1 that fixes that. It learns how your firm sells from your website and your documents, and everything else in Stage 1 draws on it.

Services firms aren't interchangeable. A data engineering boutique and a supply chain consultancy can target the same company and should say completely different things. If the tool can't tell them apart, the buyer can't either.

What it learns from

The Brain starts with your website. That's where your firm already says what it does, who it does it for and what it's proud of. When you sign up with a work email and confirm your company, Stage 1 reads it.

Then you can give it more. The documents your team already uses to sell. Service descriptions, case studies, the way you write a proposal. The more of your real material it sees, the closer its drafts get to how your best people talk.

You don't have to configure anything. There's no long form to fill out about your ideal customer. It reads what you've already written.

What it learns

Three things matter most.

What you sell. Not the category, the actual offers. Whether you run cloud migrations, build data platforms, rebuild warehouse operations or design customer apps. That tells Stage 1 which problems your firm can credibly guess at in an opener.

Who you sell to. The industries and seats your work is aimed at. That shapes which accounts land on your first Board and which signals carry weight for you.

How you talk. The words your firm uses, the level of formality, the proof you lean on. A firm that says "we fix broken data pipelines" shouldn't send notes that say "we deliver end-to-end data transformation solutions."

Where you see it

You see the Brain in three places.

On the Board. Your first Board builds itself from accounts that fit your firm, with their filings and news checked. Fit comes from what the Brain learned about who you serve.

In the research. When Stage 1 does 3x3 research on an account, it's looking for facts that connect to problems your firm solves. A finding about a legacy ERP matters to a firm that does ERP work. It's noise to a firm that builds mobile apps.

In the drafts. Each Hypothesis Opening for the economic buyer, the champion and the technical lead uses your firm's language and your kind of guess. Say your firm modernizes claims systems for regional insurers, and a carrier names a new COO whose 10-Q flags claims costs. The Brain is why the draft reads like this.

Saw you joined as COO, and the last 10-Q calls out claims handling costs as a margin drag. In your first 90 days, you'll want to know where the cost actually sits in the claims process. My guess is the adjusters are working around a claims system that hasn't kept up, and the workarounds are where the cost hides. Is that close, or is the bigger issue somewhere else?

A firm that sells something different would get a different guess on the same signal. That's the point.

You still own every send

The Brain makes drafts sound like your firm. It doesn't make the call on what goes out. You read every opener and approve it before it's sent from your own LinkedIn and email.

When you edit a draft, you're the final word. The tool does the reading and the first pass. The seller owns the message.

It gets better as you use it

Your firm's offer changes. You add a practice, you win a new kind of client, you write a new case study. Give the Brain the new material and the research and drafts move with you.

That's what separates a tool that knows your business from one that just knows your name. More on the rest of the product in how Stage 1 ranks accounts on the Board.
